Sandia Peak Adventure

by

Our original plans were to fly into Albuquerque Friday afternoon, explore Old Town, have dinner on Sandia Peak, take the tram back around 9:00, and drive to our room at the Santa Fe Motel and Inn.  When it was clear that we were trapped on the mountain top I phoned the motel to tell
them that we would not be able to make it there.  The innkeeper told me that he would try to resell our room but made no guarantee.  Then I called the Doubletree in Albuquerque to see if they could take us one night earlier than originally planned.  They could not.  In fact, there was not a room to be found in Albuquerque that night.  Another phone call to the Santa Fe Motel to tell the innkeeper that we would make it there but very late (or early in the morning) and Inn and we were given instructions on where to find the lockbox that would contain our room key and impossible to follow instructions to find our room.  I was in a really bad mood (sorry wife).  At 1:00 the area looked really sketchy.  Stay tuned...
